A few lines about your team and what you're working on is plenty.

Please use your work email so we can see who we're talking to. Personal addresses like Gmail or Yahoo won't go through.
Got it. Thanks for the note; a real person will read it and reply from hello@cedarandloam.com.
That didn't go through. Email hello@cedarandloam.com or call (913) 214-9123 and we'll pick it up from there.

Privacy Statement

Last updated: October 12, 2026

Introduction

This Privacy Statement explains how Cedar & Loam LLC ("Cedar & Loam", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and shares personal information. It covers:

  • our website at cedarandloam.com and any page that links to this statement (the "Site");
  • phone calls you make to the numbers shown on the Site, and emails you send us;
  • personal information we collect for our own business purposes, such as finding and keeping in touch with prospective clients.

In all of these cases we decide how and why your information is used, which some privacy laws call being the "controller" or the "business".

When this statement does not apply. When a client hires us and gives us access to their systems or data so we can do the work (for example, mapping their workflows during a Groundwork engagement), we handle that data on the client's behalf and under our agreement with them. The client's own privacy notice covers it, not this statement.

If you live in the United States, the U.S. Addendum at the end of this statement gives more detail and explains how to use your rights.

Changes to this statement

We may update this statement from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a change that materially affects how we use information we already hold about you, we will post a notice on the Site before it takes effect.

Personal information we collect

When you call us

Our main number is a Google Voice number. If you reach the Site from one of our Google ads, you may see a Google forwarding number instead, so we can tell the ad led to your call. When you call us, we collect:

  • your phone number and the caller ID name your phone carrier provides;
  • the date, time and length of the call;
  • if you called a Google forwarding number, which of our ads you clicked first. Google also collects your area code to report the call to us;
  • any voicemail you leave, and a written transcript of it made automatically by Google Voice. We do not record calls.

When you email us

We collect your name, email address, what you write, and any details you choose to share, such as your company, job title or phone number.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads, including Google's call tracking, on the Site. With your consent where the law requires it, they place cookies and similar technologies on your device and collect:

  • the pages you view, how long you stay, what you click and how you arrived (for example, from a search, an ad or another website);
  • your browser, device type, operating system, screen size and language;
  • your IP address, which is used to estimate your approximate location (city or region, never your precise location);
  • identifiers stored in cookies that recognize your browser across visits;
  • whether you went on to call us, so we can measure which ads and pages lead to calls.

See "Cookies and other tracking technologies" below for how to control them.

From other sources

We may collect business contact details about prospective clients from public sources such as company websites and professional networking sites, or from business contact data providers. This usually means name, company, job title and work email or phone number. When we use a data provider, we take reasonable steps to confirm it collected the information lawfully.

How we use your personal information

We use personal information:

To run our business and pursue our legitimate interests, including to:

  • answer your call or email and follow up on your inquiry;
  • understand which ads, searches and pages bring people to us and lead to calls, and spend our advertising budget accordingly;
  • show our ads to people who have visited the Site (remarketing), and measure whether those ads worked;
  • review voicemails and their transcripts to follow up accurately, train ourselves, and improve how we describe our services;
  • keep records of prospective and current clients, and manage those relationships;
  • keep the Site working and secure, and prevent fraud and abuse;
  • establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
  • create aggregated or de-identified information that no longer identifies you.

With your consent, where the law requires it, for analytics and advertising cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

To meet legal obligations, such as tax and accounting rules or a valid legal request.

We do not use your information to make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.

How we disclose your personal information

We share personal information with:

  • Service providers that work on our behalf: Webflow (website hosting), Google (Tag Manager, Analytics, call tracking, the Google Voice phone service, and the web fonts on the Site), Google Workspace (email) and Stripe (payment processing). They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
  • Advertising partners: Google Ads. They receive information about your visits and whether you called us, and may combine it with other information they hold about you to show you ads and measure them. Under some U.S. state laws this counts as "selling" or "sharing" personal information; see the U.S. Addendum for how to opt out.
  • Professional advisers, such as our lawyers and accountants, where needed.
  • Authorities and others, when required by law, court order or other legal process, or when needed to protect our rights, our clients or others.
  • A buyer or successor, if we are involved in a merger, sale of assets, financing or similar transaction, subject to the promises in this statement.

We do not share voicemails or voicemail transcripts with advertising partners.

International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our service providers mainly store and process information in the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from yours. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses included in our providers' terms.

How long we keep your personal information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above:

  • Voicemails and their transcripts: 12 months after the call, unless we need them longer for an active client relationship or a legal matter.
  • Call records (number, time, length, source): 24 months.
  • Analytics data in Google Analytics: 14 months.
  • Emails and prospect records: for as long as we have an active or prospective business relationship, and up to 3 years after our last contact.
  • Client records: as long as our contract and the law require.

When deciding, we consider how long we have been in contact with you, any legal obligation to keep records, and whether we need the information to handle a dispute or legal claim.

Marketing emails

If we send you marketing emails, each one includes a link to unsubscribe. You can also email hello@cedarandloam.com to stop them. We may still send you messages about work you have asked us to do.

Cookies and other tracking technologies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include pixels and scripts that do the same job. We use:

  • Strictly necessary technologies that make the Site work and remember your cookie choices. These are always on.
  • Analytics technologies (Google Analytics 4) that tell us how visitors use the Site.
  • Advertising technologies (Google Ads) that measure our ads and show our ads to past visitors.
  • Call tracking (Google Ads), which shows visitors who arrive from our ads a Google forwarding number and links that visit to their call.

The cookie banner lets you accept or reject analytics, advertising and call tracking, and you can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, which brings the banner back on your next visit. The banner's "View details" link lists the cookies we use. If you reject call tracking, you will see our main phone number.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the Site may not work as expected if you do. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of advertising cookies (see the U.S. Addendum). We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals, because there is no common standard for them.

Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can manage Google ad personalization at https://adssettings.google.com.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections to the Site and access controls on the services we use. Only people who need personal information to do their work can see it, and they must keep it confidential. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.

Links to other websites

The Site may link to websites we do not operate. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their privacy statements.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask whether we hold personal information about you and get a copy of it;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • have your information deleted;
  • receive your information in a portable format;
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
  • opt out of targeted advertising and of the "sale" or "sharing" of your information;
  • withdraw consent where we rely on it.

To make a request, email hello@cedarandloam.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it, and we will respond within the time the law requires. You will not be treated differently for using these rights. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you may also complain to your local data protection authority, though we would welcome the chance to address your concern first.

Children

The Site is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
